I was cleaning the floors in our home this week and I paused in each room, really noticing the items throughout. They aren't part of my design/decor, they aren't clutter either.
They are telling the story of us, the people who live here.

These vignettes of items won't be there forever - this cardboard box fort Vivian made might not even be here next week. But goodness I hope I keep the memory of her readying in it forever!

I can't stand Trixie on our furniture or the permanent dent she's made on our couch cushion. One day she won't be in this window watching out for us.

One day I'll miss this gymnastics equipment that nearly takes over our entire den.

I have an infactuation with the US postal service and send hand written notes each week. I remember purchasing this mailbox toy for Vivian when she was just a baby. Now, we pass notes to each other in it.
Just this past Sunday when Ryan left for a very long work trip, he left us each a letter inside & even remembered to put the flag up!

Oh the precious joy of Vivian's imagination and play in her room.

This vanity hold so many heirlooms and gifts!

I never wanted to have a cluttered fridge - but I have pride sticking these works up there to see all throughout my day!
I'm shifting my mindset on several areas in our home that I often find to be a pain point or not aesthetically what I want but rather to be grateful for it because this home & the moments in it are temporary.

I encourage you to embrace and love the things in your home that tell your family's story.
They're not something to apologize for but to be proud of!
