Sweatshirt Style

Sweatshirts are an American staple. We wear them not just to keep comfortably warm but they’re often memorabilia from places we’ve traveled, colleges/schools we’ve attended and sports teams we cheer on.
Over the past several years they’ve branched into the fashion world with designer logos and embellished details like ruffles and puff sleeves.
Rather than pair your innately casual sweatshirt with it’s matching sweat pants, athletic wear or jeans, create a look that’s modern and balanced by pairing it with dressier pieces.
Here are 3 ways to style a sweatshirt
Over a Dress

To make sure proportions are flattering, tuck the hem of your sweatshirt so that it hits right at your natural waist. Any longer can add too much volume and you risk looking frumpy.
I like a shirt dress so the collar and cuffs can pop out.
Top of Trousers

Remember when ‘casual Friday’ was a thing in the office. This is a prime example.
My trousers were too long but I think a cute sneaker would look great.
With a Skirt

I wear maxi skirts almost as much as I wear jeans. This look maintains femininity with a cool girl vibe.
