But First, Gratitude

As we prepare for Thanksgiving and the gifting season, it’s important to foster a heart of gratitude.

We recently found what Vivian has named our ‘Thankful Turkey’, a ceramic jar from Homegoods. Each day we take a few moments to write down things we are thankful for on index cards and place them inside. On the last day of November we plan to read them all in hopes that we have grown in contentment and humility.
Here are some areas & ideas to put gratitude into practice …
The best place to give gratitude is to the One who gives you all that you have.

Spend time in His Word. The quiet still mornings are my favorite. Worship at church, fellowship with others and take time throughout the day to stop and pray.
Our homes aren’t just shelter. They are a sacred places where we are raising our families.

Take care of it with a deep clean, yard work and add beauty with a decor project.
Your health is an invaluable gift.

Take care of your body with movement, nourishment and positive body image, thoughts and talk as a you are made wonderfully.
Our treasures are in heaven but here on earth we are called to steward our finances well.

Evaluate purchases based on needs vs wants, give to those in need and be intentional with spending. You can admire it without acquiring it.
Clothes are functional while also serving as an opportunity of expression.

Rather than adding new/more, create outfits with what you already own, edit your wardrobe and organize it so that you optimize wear of your pieces. This also applies to other closets, drawers and areas of possessions.
Time & relationships are two things we can’t get enough of.

Remove distractions (screens! 24 hours 1 day a week works wonders), schedule face to face gatherings with friends and create quality time with your family over a game/puzzle or activity.
I hope you are inspired to foster gratitude in your heart, home, health, finances, possessions, and relationships!
Dress Beautifully with a Thankful Heart
