A knit adds soft warm texture. Find a complimentary neutral or a color within the print.

A suede/leather layer adds a ton of texture and creates an expensive look. This really contrasts the feminine nature of this dress.

A vest is also a great option. Personally, I love ones with fur for the winter or a button front suit vest for added sophistication.
