When it comes to getting gussied up for special occasions I strive to look elegant and timeless. Therefore, I try to keep my fancy peices versitle. While red, green, black and plaid is on theme for this season you can wear pieces you already have that are just as festive without being limiting or blending in.
Here are 5 looks that are beautiful for holiday and year long special occasions ...
Navy

This satin strapless crumb-catcher top is perfection! I purchased it resale.
The silk skirt will be worn for many, many years!
Black clutch is a thrift store find that I'll use forever.
Navy is my all time favorite dark neutral. My Grandma loved navy and I have followed in her footsteps with her affinity of the classic color. It's softer than black and just as elegant.
I also find navy and black together to be luxurious. This is an unexpected way to wear rich dark neutrals yet certainly stunning.
Winter White

this tuxedo jumpsuit is so chic & sophisticated with a menswear vibe
Another elegant look. Monochromatic ensembles create a long, cohesive asthetic which is very flattering. Winter white is fresh and bright, like fresh snow!
Gold

This is a matching blouse & skirt that I purchased resale.
I can style them separately all year long.
a rich, warm and vibrant yellow is as complimentary and shiny as gold jewelry itself.
Style Tip: Add a saturated colored handbag and/or jewelry.
Earth Tones

Browns & olives in textured fabrics such as silk and velvet also give a look that rich & warm. Fabrics alone really make a statement, as do details like these ruffles.
Note: I've had this top for over 15 years. It was a dress that I had hemmed.
Pink

Dress: Kate Spade Here
This hot pink number screams fun! I love the drop waist and bubble hem; it makes me think of Barbie :) And for the holidays, think of it as candy cane lane inspired. I swapped out the fabric sash for a vintage gold belt and would encourage you to do the same with your solid dresses. It's a great way to add shine, pattern, texture and shine (not to mention a flattering shape).
when it comes to dressing up, curate pieces that are versatile
and don't forget to lean on your friends & their wardrobes.
I personally love sharing my clothes :)
