What I Wore

I’m not a casual gal (you don’t say!) but I did need to dress the occasion which meant pieces that would keep me cool and comfortable for walking and riding rides.
I chose tennis skirts and lightweight, casual tops paired with supportive sneakers.
I found that by styling athletic bottoms with every day tops created a look that’s put together and still functional.
What Disney World Taught Me!

I have to be honest, I was not enthusiastic about taking a trip to Disney World. The expense and vast amount of planning (we haven’t been in over 25 years!) was intimidating. BUT, Ryan really wanted to take Vivian and everyone raves about the magic and fun so I reluctantly said yes. Vivian’s age was also a big incentive to do it now and it turned out to be the most perfect time! In 1st grade/7 years old, Vivian still holds the childhood wonder for princesses but also the maturity to remember and endurance for the long days.
This week at Walt Disney World gave us memories we’ll cherish and taught me so much more than just how fun a ride can be.

Lessons Learned
Joy in being together
time with my family away from the day to day was priceless
Team work makes the dream work
working together really made the magic happen
The in between moments are just as special
Vivian made up a special secret handshake just for Disney World that we would do throughout the days!
The smiles and excited squeals that I captured in my mind and in photos are what made it worth all the work!

I did my very best to ensure we maximized our experience and I do not feel the need to return.
However, Ryan’s ready to go back next year.
Disney World is great but it’s also not the only way to have fun with your family.
Where ever your adventures take you, just have fun!!!
Here are my takeaways from our trip to Disney World:
Use a planner! Katie educated us, kept us on track with deadlines and made executing all the details smooth
Stay on Disney property - ease of access to parks & many other benefits
The early entry to the parks allowed us to ride high demand rides with minimal wait without a reservation
Rent a stroller - we walked what felt like a million miles and it made getting around (and storing belongings) enjoyable and timely
Worth their weight in gold purchases:
Multi-pass lightening lanes (3 reservations at a time for attractions/rides)
Memory Maker (photos taken by staff throughout parks)
Meal Plan - we did majority quick service
Magic Bands
Note: we did 1 park per day and did not purchase a hopper pass
Disney App is the Key
Navigating around parks, finding characters (we did not book a breakfast and met tons in between rides!), ordering & reserving meals, booking rides, etc…
Enjoy the resort
We spent our arrival & departure day at the pool and playing on the property
Tips I gathered from friends:
pack ponchos for rain and have 1-2 to cover the stroller!
Let you children watch videos of Disney World prior to your trip so they have a visual of what’s to come
Discuss souvenirs with children prior - we let Vivian pick 1 thing a day
